Developed and deployed the Mighty Pop Up Shop, an iOS library that can be integrated into native iOS and Unity mobile games and allows game developers to attach an In-App Purchase to a charity. For example: Unlocking the snow tires in a racing game for $0.99 could trigger the donation of 3 meals to a child in need. Building and deploying the shop required an in-depth knowledge of: Objective-C, iOS static libraries and frameworks, Apple In-App Purchase receipt validation, and CocoaPods.
Built a range of iOS apps, websites, and web apps, including BizVizz, an app that was featured in the App Store’s "New and Noteworthy," in addition to being honored at the 2013 Philadelphia Geek Awards. Became proficient in a wide variety of technologies including: Objective-C (iOS), Laravel (PHP), AngularJS, WordPress, ExpressionEngine, and Magento.
Independently create functioning websites from start to finish utilizing frameworks such as WordPress. Work with back-end developer to create sites using custom CMSs built in CakePHP and ExpressionEngine. Collaborate with Flash developers to integrate Flash animations into HTML containers. Build sites using adaptable layouts for optimal viewing on desktop and mobile devices. Work closely with project managers to meet aggressive schedules on up to 5 projects per week. Clients include: Virgin Mobile Live, Simple Shoes, Sony Picture Classics, Turner Classic Movies, Hard Rock Casino, and a variety of other clients in the restaurant and entertainment industries.
Worked closely with Senior Developer to create templates for integration with ExpressionEngine CMS for The National Organization on Disability. This site was required to be Priority 1 Compliant for compatibility with text readers for the visually impaired. Other clients included PA Government Organizations, which required rigorous browser testing, including Internet Explorer 6.
Research and Development/Applications Engineer: January 2007-June 2009 Designed process control systems to ensure precision manufacturing of optical components and assemblies. Managed inspection of customer returns and incoming products from internal manufacturing and various outside vendors. Supervised quality of orders in excess of $100,000 value. Assisted up to 20 customers daily over the phone and via e-mail to provide in-depth product support. Selected products from Edmund Optics catalog to custom-build systems of $10,000+ value to meet specific customer needs.
